Analytical Chemist

Qualifications:

BA/BS Degree in Chemistry OR Minimum of 3 year(s) of experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory setting as a technician, analytical chemistry data quality reviewer.

Duties:

The incumbent will assist EPA's Analytical Services Branch in Arlington, VA in running the Contract Laboratory Program. The incumbent will work on a team that establishes and manages contracts that deliver analytical chemistry services for hazardous waste site managers. Duties for this position includes supporting the inorganic and organic Program Managers with the day to day operations of the Contract Laboratory Program. The day-to-day operations include reviewing and providing comments on new and existing analytical methods, interfacing with Regions concerning data review issues, collaborating with the Office of Acquisiton Management on the development of new contracts and providing technical guidance on existing contracts. Knowledge of or experience with contracting activities, analytical chemistry methodology, data assessment and laboratory operations is requested.
