![]() As the former Chairman of the NOWCC Board of Directors, Greg Merrill assumed his responsibilities as President and Chief Executive Officer with an in-depth understanding of NOWCC operations and extensive experience in nonprofit management and advocating for older Americans. Prior to joining NOWCC, Mr. Merrill spent 19 years with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP), moving from research and planning to legislative affairs. For seven years, he served as the Director of State Legislation of AARP during a period when the association was becoming more involved with older worker issues. Following his tenure at AARP, Mr. Merrill managed state government affairs, grassroots operations and policy campaigns for several national trade associations, accumulating broader responsibilities throughout his career. In 2001, he joined the NOWCC Board of Directors, serving as Chair from 2002 until taking up the reins as President & CEO in December, 2006. Mr. Merrill’s background includes service in the US Marine Corps and the attainment of a MS degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, with an emphasis in gerontology, and an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington. ![]() Dr. Joel Reaser joined the staff of the NOWCC in 2001 after having served on the Board of Directors for NOWCC since its inception in 1997. Dr. Reaser has committed most of his professional life to organizations addressing the issues of older people. While at AARP for 18 years, he directed research programs to assess the needs of older Americans and their families. He is currently Sr. Vice President of Business Operations and Strategies and is largely responsible for the creation of the ACES Program, now in its fifth year of operation. Dr. Reaser is a Vietnam Era veteran. He completed his undergraduate work at Gettysburg College and was awarded a Ph.D. in Industrial Psychology from Southern Illinois University. ![]() Judy Murray brought over 40 years of experience in nonprofit administration when she joined NOWCC as Director of Administration in August 2007. Ms. Murray’s past experience includes work with non-profits such as the Environmental Law Institute, the National Academy of Public Administration, and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Ms. Murray is responsible for the administrative operations of NOWCC’s headquarters office, as well as its three field offices. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Maryland. ![]() George Thompson joined NOWCC in 1998, shortly after the Company’s inception. As the company has grown from its early days so, too, have Mr. Thompson’s responsibilities. Today his title is Deputy Facilities Assistant and he directly supports the Director of Administration and the CEO, while ensuring that the office is well maintained and that all staff members have the equipment needed to do their jobs efficiently. When it comes to questions about office supplies, equipment or food, George is the “go to” person for NOWCC. ![]() Genevieve W. Grinkley joined NOWCC in 2001 as Receptionist. She was promoted to the position of Administrative Assistant in 2006. Her background includes experience as an administrative assistant with the Federal Government at the Pentagon, the District Government and private industry. Ms. Grinkley is a people person and trully enjoys the interaction with NOWCC staff, SEE and ACES Program participants and other organizations. ![]() Cito Vanegas has been with NOWCC since the Company’s inception in 1997. In his role as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Vanegas directs the organization’s financial activities, including the management of the Accounting and Payroll Departments and the development of NOWCC’s financial systems. Prior to joining NOWCC, Mr. Vanegas was an associate of a public accounting firm and is Certified Public Accountant in the State of Virginia. He received a Bachelor of Science from Mary Washington University and Master of Business Administration from George Mason University. He is a long standing member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). ![]() Linda Holiman joined the NOWCC Accounting Department in 1998. Prior to working at NOWCC, she worked for a regional public accounting firm as an auditor and tax preparer. Ms. Holiman now holds the position of Controller in which she leads and supervises the Accounting staff and ensures NOWCC’s compliance with Federal rules and regulations. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Ms. Holiman says she is proud to work for an organization that provides opportunities for older workers and values their skills and experience. In addition, Ms. Holiman’s father was a SEE Enrollee with EPA for over 10 years. ![]() Elizabeth Azizi joined NOWCC in 2009 as Staff Accountant and was promoted to Senior Accountant in January 2010. Prior to joining NOWCC, Ms. Azizi worked for Fannie Mae for five years as Financial Analyst in both the Single Family & Multi Family Divisions. In her current position, Ms. Azizi concentrates most of her efforts in financial reporting for NOWCC. She holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Accounting and is currently a candidate for a Certified Public Accountant license. Ms. Azizi appreciates the motivational atmosphere at NOWCC because it encourages staff members to make individual contributions to Company goals. ![]() Angela Ferozi joined the accounting department of NOWCC in January 2010. In her role as Staff Accountant, Ms Ferozi is mostly involved in financial reporting. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. Ms. Ferozi is eager to work at NOWCC because of the great atmosphere that encourages employees to strive towards clearly defined goals of the company. ![]() Erin Dickey joined NOWCC in 2008 as Accounts Payable Specialist. Her duties include processing travel reimbursements for enrollees and paying vendor invoices. One of the main reasons Ms. Dickey loves working for NOWCC is the people: “You just can’t find a better office to work in.” She also enjoys interacting with the enrollees in the SEE and ACES Programs and hopes to stay with NOWCC for a very long time. ![]() Yvonne Bolton has been with NOWCC since its inception in 1997. She began her career with the Company as Payroll Specialist, was promoted to Senior Payroll Specialist in April 2002 and to Payroll Manager the following October. Ms. Bolton’s main duties include managing the Payroll Department and overseeing the payroll for staff & enrollees. Her goals are to provide excellent customer service and ensure that everyone gets paid on time. ![]() Payroll Specialist, Anna Doan, joined NOWCC in 2008. She loves to work at NOWCC because the Company promotes collaboration among staff which contributes to a good working environment. “They are like my extended family and I feel very comfortable going to work every day and knowing that I will have an enjoyable work day ahead”. Most of all, Ms. Doan is happy to assist the enrollees and monitors with their payroll questions and concerns. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from The Hague University in Hague, Netherlands. Outside of work, Ms. Doan enjoys spending as much time as possible with her family. ![]() Barbara Bronislawska-Canada began her career with NOWCC in 2001 as a Staff Accountant and was later promoted to Senior Accountant. In May of 2009, she left the Accounting Department to fill a newly created position of ACES Program Manager at NOWCC. Ms. Canada’s main duties are to oversee the operations of the ACES Program administered by NOWCC for the Natural Resources Conservation Services (NRCS) at the Department of Agriculture. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity University and a Master of Business Administration from the American University in Washington, DC. ![]() Fannie Walker joined NOWCC in 2008 as a Payroll Specialist. In March of 2010, Ms. Walker accepted a position with the Eastern Field Staff as ACES Recruiter/Specialist. Prior to joining NOWCC, she spent 30 years in the utilities industry. Ms. Walker holds an AA degree in Business Management from Prince George’s Community College and a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Strayer University. As Recruiter, she enjoys becoming acquainted with and providing customer service to our enrollees and customers. ![]() Jason Straw joined NOWCC as Information Technology Coordinator in 2009. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Straw was an in-school technology coordinator with the Arlington, VA Public Schools. In this capacity, he trained teachers, assisted students, and developed IT policy for the building and the school system. In his current position with NOWCC, Mr. Straw assists NOWCC staff members with their IT issues, as well as providing internal oversight of the Company’s increasingly complex information systems. Mr. Straw holds a Bachelor of Science from High Point University in North Carolina. ![]() Tammie Reynolds joined NOWCC in early 2005 as a Recruiter in the Eastern Field Office in Arlington, VA. In late 2007 she moved to Rochester, NY and began working as Field Coordinator for the three NOWCC field offices. Ms. Reynolds earned a Bachelor of Arts from State University of New York in Cortland, New York. She loves working at an organization where she can make a difference. Her spare time is spent with her husband, Arthur, and daughter, Zatanna. ![]() Gerri Barnes joined NOWCC in 2007 as Renewal Specialist. Formerly a careerist with the Federal Government, Ms. Barnes worked for the Department of Labor as a legislative analyst assisting in the development of employment standards and, later, for the Administration on Aging as a program analyst evaluating the effectiveness of grants under the Older Americans Act. In her position with NOWCC, she works closely with the NOWCC Field Offices, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Department of Agriculture in coordinating the enrollment renewal process for enrollees. Ms. Barnes received her education at Howard University and the Georgetown Law Center. ![]() Jack Everett, V.P. and Director Eastern Field Operations for NOWCC, has been working with the SEE Program since 1981 when the Program was administered by AARP. While at AARP, Mr. Everett recruited and filled the first SEE position at EPA headquarters in Washington D.C. After the authorization bill was passed by Congress in 1984 and was signed by President Reagan, the SEE Program grew rapidly. Today, Mr. Everett continues to serve the SEE Program with responsibility for activities in EPA Regions 1, 2, and 3 which include the Regional Office in Philadelphia, PA, as well as EPA Headquarters offices in Washington, D.C. and Virginia. He also serves enrollees and monitors on the ACES Program with the Natural Resources Conservation Services. ![]() Delma Hamlett has been with NOWCC since April 1998. Ms. Hamlet began her career with NOWCC as Payroll/AP Specialist and then was promoted to the responsibilities of processing all Travel Reimbursement/Accounts Payable for the Accounting Department. In 2008 Delma assumed her current responsibilities as Recruiter for the Eastern Field Office. During her tenure, Ms. Hamlet has witnessed the growth of NOWCC and now strives to provide the utmost in customer service to NOWCC Enrollees and clients. ![]() Laura Melton works as Recruiter for South Central Field Operations in Dallas, Texas. She joined the company in late 2004 after having spent 15 years as a human resources generalist in the energy, software, retail, and insurance industries. Her education includes a Bachelor of Arts from New York University and a Master of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin. With fairly diverse responsibilities in the SEE and ACES Programs, Ms. Melton enjoys her interaction with the talented program participants in many different areas of the U.S. ![]() Working with the SEE Program since 1995, Ms. Miner established the Western Field Office that serves enrollees in EPA regions 8, 9 and 10. When the Natural Resources Conservation Service, Department of Agriculture, decided to pilot an older worker program with NOWCC in 2005, Ms. Miner helped develop field policy and business practices. Previously she directed a statewide senior employment program in Illinois for 17 years and spent 6 years with an Illinois Area Agency on Aging, establishing various Older American Act-funded, community-based senior centers and services. ![]() Working out of the Western Field Office in Colorado, Bridget Yupcavage has been a Recruiter with NOWCC since 2007. She primarily assists the Environmental Protection Agency and Natural Resources Conservation Service with filling and maintaining positions in the western regions. Prior to working with NOWCC, Ms. Yupcavage was an Education Coordinator for a non-profit environmental organization in Pennsylvania. She earned a B.A. in Environmental Studies from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and enjoys exploring the Rocky Mountains with her husband, Conor and their dog, Rufus. Pamela Lewis has been with NOWCC on a part-time basis for several months and recently started full-time in order to assist the Western Field Office with an increase in service area. Her background includes working in the Denver Public Schools Administration and extensive work with medical records in nursing homes. She has also served as Executive Secretary and worked in Marketing and Sales in various capacities. Her background includes working in the Denver Public Schools Administration and extensive work with medical records in nursing homes. She has also served as Executive Secretary and worked in Marketing and Sales in various capacities. Pam is excited to be working with the SEE and ACES Programs and fully enjoys the culture of teamwork at NOWCC.
